Hi there, thank God it’s Friday!

I anticipated this day really because the week has been so stressful. How are you and how was your week?

So, the year is wrapping up and almost everyone is setting goal(s) for 2018. It is absolutely good because, preparation needs to meet opportunities 💯

But did you set your health goals? We all make plans of things to achieve and heights to reach but we have forgotten that  only the living and healthy can pursue dreams and meet target ✔

When one is not healthy, every other goal really doesn’t matter as all that will matter then would be “Lord I just want to be healed”… Trust me, I have been there! I was preparing for my second to the last exam in nursing school and I was battling with serious migraine headaches 😬 I was trying to read but No way! I was advised to take muscle relaxing and sleeping pills then sleep off  for a whole week 😱

Did I do it? YES… Because my brain couldn’t even comprehend when I was reading!

I forgot about my exams and I faced my health 💯

So, this December include your health goals in the plan.

Is it to eat healthy food all through 2018? Shed some weight to have healthy BMI? Or to start exercising to keep fit? Or to schedule time of rest and breaks to ease stress? Whatever is, set the goal!

In 2016 one of the goals I set was that by December 2017 I should be in the US practicing my Nursing and advancing both academically and professionally, but here we are November 2017 and I am not anywhere near the achievement of that goal!

Are you asking what have I done towards the achievement? Well, I have done quite a whole lot of things as required but here I am… In the middle of my thoughts and disappointment, God showed up again.

 I decided to share because I know people used to count their losses/gains, successes/failures towards the end of the year and I know I am not the only one who set a goal I have not been able to achieve. If you are like me, maybe you have not been able to achieve all the goals or part of the goals you set for the year, God said I should tell you what He told me. If you are like me keep reading to the end!

Ok! This generation, we have developed a strong focus on goal setting. Whether physical, mental, spiritual, academically, financially socially, martially etc, most of us have the long list of goals we would like to accomplish.

But so many times our goals are just small portion or tip of what God desires to accomplish in and through us.

Just because your goals/plans are small/failed doesn’t mean that we should not set goals again!

We need to set goals so as to keep ourselves in check, for motivation, to stay focused and to boost our self-confidence.

We all know that an appropriate goal must have the S-M-A-R-T characteristics i.e (Smart, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant and Time bound) and we must write it down, even the scripture sayswrite it down (HABAKUK 2:2-3)

Was my goal SMART? Yes, it was smart but it still failed (at least for this year).

After setting Goals and you are out on track to make sure you achieve it, the followings should be in place too:

– Do not forget that your goals are only achievable when God is involved!

Because, ”unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain(Psalm127:1)’’ and he said ‘’You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.(proverbs19:21)’’

Only God can make it happen!

– Spiritual goal should come first, why? Because it opens door of achievement for the other goals set (according to Matthew 6:33’’seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you’’).

–  When you set goals, do not forget that you are not the first person to have this kind of goal,seek godly counsel! Some people have been to that place you are just planning to go! (Plans fail for lack of counsel,
but with many advisers they succeed. PROVERBS15:22).

– Diligence — due diligence cannot be over emphasized if your plan must work! ‘’The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. PROVERBS21:5’’.

In conclusion, there is no goal that is unachievable with God! Because, with God all things are possible!

If your previously set goals and you have not achieved it, know that all things work together for good (Romans8:28). Know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

Don’t be discouraged/sad/disappointed, set another goal! Do not allow failure to discourage you from setting another goal. (Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. PHILIPIANS3:13-14). Forget about your past failures; look ahead to the beautiful reward ahead of you.

Surrender your goals, desires and dreams to him and watch him in awe as He multiplies, expands and increase your influence and impact on this generation!

Allow God to shine His incredible power through us!!!

Remember the above simply can work for those who are in a relationship with Abba!!!

Hello friends, happy new month (it’s my first post in the month). The Lord will grant us our heart desires before the year runs out!

I really got lots of mail about my previous posts in October and I found out that almost everyone set targets but are yet to meet their targets.

Nonetheless, I have a message for you today but first what is on your mind?

The mind according to WIKIPEDIA is a set of cognitive faculties including consciousness, perception, thinking, judgment, and memory.

It is usually defined as the faculty of an entity’s thoughts and consciousness. It holds the power of imagination, recognition, and appreciation, and is responsible for processing feelings and emotions, resulting in attitudes and actions.

Immediately someone wished me happy new month, I started counting my gains/losses, successes/failures and my times of pain/peace… the list is endless! I know I am not the only one having that kind of thought but in the midst of it God’s word ministered to me and I decided to share with you!

You can do/achieve anything if you set your mind on it but most times our mind is set only on material things which are even temporal and when we are unable to achieve those things or meet our earthly targets we get angry/sad/disappointed. Meanwhile, the scripture said “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”(Romans 8:6)

The above scripture started making a whole lot of sense to me when I saw a lot of my clients struggling to meet target while they are dying gradually ( trying to meet target at work, get promotions and allowances)… they set their mind on flesh but medically death seems to be knocking on their doors. Whereas, if we set our mind on basically on the things of God (spirit), we have assurance of PEACE and LIFE! What more is important than life itself?  NOTHING!

Setting our mind on the things of God will not only give us LIFE and PEACE but also every other things shall be an additional advantage according to Matthew 6:33 ‘’but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you’’.

The remaining days of the year can still be productive if only we will set our mind on God (Spirit) and seek His will consistently. After all, we as human can only set goals only God can bring them to pass/accomplishment according to Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” So as we align our hearts and minds with the Lord, then our purpose on earth will not only be clear but successful.

Time has not gone yet, this year can still be productive and if not clear your mind and prepare it for a greater 2018…

The Harm of Poor sleep and Stress

Hey guys, I am so happy I am a bit consistent this month (not because I am very free but because I have fallen in love with you more than ever, lol).

Ok! How are you all doing? I am doing pretty good and I am happy it’s friyayyy (I am dancing while writing because it’s another time to have a long sleep and rest).

So I have been writing about maintaining healthy weight since the beginning of the Month and I am happy at the feedbacks you guys are giving me.

Thanks for following the principles; prevention is far cheaper and better than cure.

Today I am writing about the arm of poor sleep and stress in relation to weight gain.

You know when I started my current 8-5pm job I was weighing 62kg and that was about a year ago but when this month was starting I was 69kg! so saddening and I started checking what the problem could be and it led me to writing this post.


When I was growing up, if I sleep for a long time my mum would be shouting that I will be getting fat and it is true but now not getting enough sleep again causes weight gain! What exactly are we even supposed to do?

Even if you usually eat well and exercise, chronic high stress can prevent you from losing weight—or even add pounds,”

Every time you have a stressful day, your brain instructs your cells to release potent hormones. You get a burst of adrenaline, which taps stored energy so you can fight or flee. At the same time, you get same sudden increase in the production of cortisol, which tells your body to replenish that energy even though you haven’t used very many calories. This can make you hungry…very hungry. And your body keeps on pumping out that cortisol as long as the stress continues.

In that case, when we are under stress, healthy diet is difficult to maintain while under stress and during these periods you know what we crave for??? All manner of  fattening  foods (burger, gala, coke, and so on).

With your adrenal glands pumping out cortisol, production of the muscle-building hormone testosterone slows down. “Over time, this drop causes a decrease in your muscle mass, so you burn fewer calories”.  Cortisol also encourages your body to store fat—especially visceral fat (i.e fat inside the organs) which is particularly dangerous because it surrounds vital organs and releases fatty acids into your blood, raising cholesterol and insulin levels and putting you at risk for heart disease and diabetes.



  • EXERCISE- This cannot be over emphasized! It relieves stress. It actually fools your body into thinking you’re escaping the source of your stress,” says Talbott.  Read my post about exercise here. Flex your hands, your legs, take a stroll… Be active!
  • Slow Down During meals- Don’t do meet up! I mean don’t try to eat all the meals you skipped at once.
  • Don’t do Strict Dieting- It increases the level of your cortisol and it makes your blood sugar spike up and then go down. The brain begin to be deprived of sugar( fuel), your hunger centre will be triggered and you might not have a choice than to eat (heavily).
  • If you are craving for something sweet/salty, eat it! You might not do this all the time, give in once in awhile! “Have a piece of chocolate. You will feel better. Just stop at one.” If you have trouble restraining yourself, take precautions so you won’t binge. Buy a single cookie when you’re out instead of keeping a box at home; or keep them in the freezer so you have to wait for one to defrost.
  • Don’t Drink too much of caffeine/coffee when you are under stress- When you combine stress with caffeine, it raises cortisol levels more than stress alone. In one study by the University of Oklahoma, consuming the equivalent of 2½ to 3 cups of coffee while under mild stress boosted cortisol by about 25%—and kept it up for 3 hours. When subjects took 600 mg of caffeine (the equivalent of 6 cups of java) throughout the day, the hormone went up by 30% and stayed high all day long. You’ll experience these effects even if your body is accustomed to a lot of lattes. And because high cortisol levels can contribute to stress eating, you might want to consider quitting caffeine as well.
  • Do not Skip Your Breakfast- eat breakfast that is rich in nutrients (vitamins) and calcium and magnesium. Take fruits and vegetables and do not forget to stay hydrated by drinking enough water!
  • SLEEP!!! It is the greatest stress reliever- “Your body perceives sleep deprivation as a major stressor,” says Talbott.  A University of Chicago study found that getting an average of 6½ hours each night can increase cortisol, appetite, and weight gain. The National Sleep Foundation recommends 7 to 9 hours. As if that weren’t enough, other research shows that lack of sleep also raises levels of ghrelin, a hunger-boosting hormone. In one study, appetite: particularly for sweet and salty foods—increased by 23% in people who lacked sleep. The good news: A few nights of solid sleep can bring all this back into balance and getting enough regularly helps keep it there. Says Talbott, “You’ll eat less, and you’ll feel better, too.”

Like I said earlier that this month we are going to be talking about obesity and maintaining a healthy body weight.

I am actually making progress, I lost 1kg already and it’s just a week into my fitness journey although it has not been easy because I love food a lot!

Ok, it is not just avoiding heavy food that can help in losing weight/prevent some medical conditions.

You need good exercise not only to lose weight but to stay fit.

If you are like me or your work makes you sit all day long, you need to consider a time out for exercise because in activity/lack of physical activities is dangerous for our health.

Sedentary lifestyle does no good to the body.

Since one of the ways we add weight is through excessive intake of food that contains calorie, I decided to write about calorie and the amount we should take per day/meal.

If you want to know more, definitely keep reading.


In a simple term, calories are the units of energy consumption through eating and drinking, and the amount of energy used through physical activity. Although calorie is not just related to food/drinks only, I am going to be talking basically about calories in relation to food/drink and the way our body uses the energy only in this post.

It is no longer news that: the human body needs some amount of energy/calories to function and the ways we can get the needed calories/energy  is via food and drink, we all know that we can only survive few days without food and water/drink.

I hope this weekend has been restful for you all? as for me I have been from one place to the other( tired and writing). Meanwhile, happy new month, may this month yield positive result to all our quests.

So, the new/recent trend is that almost everyone is trying to lose weight (but for what reason?).

As for me I look prettier when I am not extremely slim but chubby without a protruded belly (lol).

More than losing weight to look attractive, being overweight exposes us to the risk of having some disease conditions.

What does OBESITY means?

According to WIKIPEDIA: it is the state of being grossly fat/overweight.

It is a medical condition in which there is excessive/accumulation of fat in the body.

One can be said to be obese when the body mass index is above 30kg/m2.

Body Mass Index is the measurement of one’s body fat/muscles/bones using the formula:

WEIGHT/HEIGHT2 (divide the weight in KG by Height square in meters {W/H2})

For example: I am currently weighing 65kg and I am 1.6m (height).

My BMI will be 65 divided by 1.62  (2.56m2  )= 25.4kg/m2 (covers face)

The above simply means I am at the borderline.

One can be either underweight/normal weight/overweight/obese.

One can be said to be underweight when the BMI is 18.5kg/m2 or below

Normal BMI is within 18.5kg/m2 – 25kg/m2

Overweight is within 25-30kg/m2

Obese is 3okg/m2 and above.

In 2015, 600 million adults (12%) and 100 million children were obese. Obesity is more common in women than men.

The common causes of overweight and obesity are:

  • Excess food intake in addition with junks( food rich in fat and sugar)
  • Lack of activity/ sedentary lifestyle
  • Genetics( it can be hereditary)
  • Some medications can also cause it
  • poor sleep and stress
  • Few disease/medical condition ( such as endocrine disorders e.g hypothyroidism.

    Obesity is one of the leading preventable causes of death worldwide. A number of reviews have found that mortality risk is lowest at a BMI of 20–25 kg/m2.

    As much as I do advise people to be comfortable in their skin/shape and size, I still tell people that being overweight can kill because it makes one to be at risk for some disease condition such as:


    • Diabetes Mellitus ( type 2)
    • Increase cholesterol level
    • Cardiovascular diseases (the heart and the blood vessels) such as high blood pressure/ coronary artery diseases etc.
    • Cancers
    • Depression
    • Breathlessness
    • Snoring
    • Infertility
    • Intrauterine fetal death (death of the fetus in the uterus).
    • Stretch marks
    • Intertrigo
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Penile dysfunction / small penis
    • gout and a whole lot more.

The above list is endless, it is just to give you glimpse of the disadvantages of being obese/overweight.


How can one prevent or treat obesity?

Obesity/overweight can be treated just by making the following adjustments:

  • Reduce the intake of excess food especially food that contains fat and excess sugar (carbohydrates). Take balanced diet which contains all classes of food in right proportions (no starving).
  • EXERCISE!!! Even if your work require that you sit all though the working hours, take breaks and take few steps, do not sit all day.
  • Eat fiber
  • medications ( get prescription from a medics)
  • weight loss surgery

I hope you had a stress-free  week? In case you didn’t , please find time to rest during the weekend because rest is essential if you must function maximally.

I started talking about infertility and its causes last week, in case you missed my last post, you can read it here…

I am going to continue from where I stopped by proceeding to:


The treatment of gonorrhea is strictly by combination of antibiotics. It is very important that you and your partner get treated even if you/your partner is not showing any sign of the infection, so as to prevent re-infection by the carrier.

According to Center for Disease Prevention and Control:  uncomplicated gonorrhea be treated only with the antibiotic ceftriaxone given as an injection in combination with either azithromycin (Zithromax, Zmax) or doxycycline (Monodox, Vibramycin, others) two antibiotics that are taken orally.

Babies who are born by mothers who are with gonorrhea should receive antibiotic eye ointment after birth to prevent eye infection. If infection develops, antibiotics should be given.

NB: do not do self medication, always seek professional medical advise from your health care provider. 

If Gonorrhea is left untreated, the followings are the possible complications:

  • Infertility in women. Untreated gonorrhea can spread into the uterus and Fallopian tubes, causing pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which may result in scarring of the tubes, greater risk of pregnancy complications and infertility. PID is a serious infection that requires immediate treatment.
  • Infertility in men. Men with untreated gonorrhea can experience epididymitis — inflammation of a small, coiled tube in the rear portion of the testicles where the sperm ducts are located (epididymis). Epididymitis is treatable, but if left untreated, it may lead to infertility.
  • Infection that spreads to the joints and other areas of your body. The bacterium that causes gonorrhea can spread through the bloodstream and infect other parts of your body, including your joints. Fever, rash, skin sores, joint pain, swelling and stiffness are possible results.
  • It increases your risk of HIV/AIDS. People who have both gonorrhea and HIV can easily pass both diseases more readily to their partners.
  • Complications in babies. Babies who contract gonorrhea from their mothers during birth can develop blindness, sores on the scalp and infections.


However, Gonorrhea can be prevented. “Prevention is better than cure” this can not be over emphasized.

some of the prevention includes:

  • Complete abstinence from sex is the most reliable way to prevent gonorrhea. But if you choose to have sex, use a condom during any type of sexual contact.
  • Before the initiation of sexual intercourse with new partner find out whether your partner has been tested for sexually transmitted infections, including gonorrhea. If not, ask whether he or she would be willing to be tested.
  •  If your partner has signs or symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection, such as burning during urination or a genital rash or sore, don’t have sex with that person.
  • Go for regular annual screening if you are sexually active and you are less than 25 years of age and for older women at increased risk of infection, also those who have a new sex partner, if you have more than one sexual partner, or if your sexual partner has a sexually transmitted infection.

    Regular screening is also recommended for men who have sex with men, as well as their partners.

To avoid reinfection with gonorrhea, abstain from unprotected sex for seven days after you and your sex partner have completed treatment and after the symptoms has subsided.

HEY darling, I am happy to write to you today… I have been quiet occupied for a while now but I will still make time out to do this as frequent as I can.

I am a nurse and I work in a clinic, I have been privileged to give listening ear to couple of people who have been married for years but have no child/ren.

Some are just waiting on God(miracles) while others are going about seeking medical attention.

One lady told me its been 3 years now they are still waiting on God, I advised her to visit a gynecologist while we continue to wait on God.

She came back after a lot of consultations and laboratory investigations and she told me, the consultant told her that her infertility was as a result of a long-standing infection!

Can you imagine that? NO… a lot of us pay little or no attention to our reproductive system/organs while single which is not supposed to be.

I probed further by asking her about past infections she noticed, she said it was when she was in school… she had a sexual partner who she believed was faithful until she noticed she was having serious itching and burning sensation on her private part, she spoke about it to her friends, they gave her some tablets and cream , the signs/symptoms stopped and she moved on with her life even though she had some discharges but she felt it was normal and she ignored, not knowing she was in some troubles!

Allow me to tell you something about infertility and some silent STDs that can cause it in this post and the next.

In my own word: it is the state of inability  to bring forth an offspring or a lack of productivity after one full year of unprotected sex…

It might be from the man/woman… both genders can be infertile! Permit me to talk about female infertility because the society we are in attacks the woman first when it comes to infertility.

Infertility in women can be as a result of either of the below listed causes:

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease.
  • A previous infection.
  • hormonal imbalances
  • Polyps in the uterus.
  • alcohol/drug abuse
  • Endometriosis or fibroid.
  • obesity (being over weight)
  • Scar tissue or adhesion.
  • Stress
  • Chronic medical illness.
  • A previous ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.
  • Thyroid gland prob
  • A birth defect.
  • excess/intense exercise
  • irregular/short menstrual cycle
  • aging(as we age, our fertility decreases).


These and many more can cause infertility, until you visit the Physician, you might not be able to figure it out…

Common infections that causes PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE and INFERTILITY if left untreated are CHLAMYDIA and GONORRHEA. Untreated, about 10-15% of women with chlamydia will develop PID. Chlamydia can also cause fallopian tube infection without any symptoms. PID and “silent” infection in the upper genital tract may cause permanent damage to the fallopian tubes, uterus, and surrounding tissues, which can lead to infertility. Most women infected with chlamydia or gonorrhea have no symptoms.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends annual chlamydia and gonorrhea screening of all sexually active women younger than 25 years, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, or a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection.

Lets talk about GONORRHEA: Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can infect both men and women. It can cause infections in the genitals, rectum, and throat. It is a very common infection, especially among young people ages 15-24 years, but anyone who is sexually active can get gonorrhea.


You can get gonorrhea by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has gonorrhea. A pregnant mother with gonorrhea can give the infection to her baby during childbirth.


Some men with gonorrhea may have no symptoms at all. However, men who do have symptoms, may have:

  • burning sensation when passing urine
  • A white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis;
  • Painful or swollen testicles (this doesn’t happen in all cases)

Most women with gonorrhea do not have any symptoms. Even when a woman has symptoms, they are often mild and can be mistaken for a bladder or vaginal infection. Women with gonorrhea are at risk of developing serious complications from the infection, even if they don’t have any symptoms.
Symptoms in women can include:

  • Painful or burning sensation when urinating;
  • Increased vaginal discharge (this is why women should know the normal amount and color of the usual vagina discharge)
  • Vaginal bleeding between periods.

Rectal infections may either cause no symptoms or cause symptoms in both men and women that may include:

  • Discharge;
  • Anal itching;
  • Soreness;
  • Bleeding;
  • Painful bowel movements.

You should be examined by your health care provider  if you notice any of the above mentioned symptoms or if your partner has an STD or symptoms of an STD, such as an unusual sore, a smelly discharge, burning when urinating, or bleeding between periods.

Haha , have you ever been in this my tight corner?

I was literally begin God and praying that God should just allow little to just come out (lol).

My last visit to the throne room was not pleasant at all and I know you might have been there too or if you have not been there you can prevent it!

By now, I know you would have been wondering what is throne room exactly?

The throne room in a simple term is the toilet [ lol].

So I was in the toilet for about 30 minutes struggling to pass stool, meanwhile it has been three days prior to that time I visited the toilet because anytime I have the urge I’d go but nothing was coming out until few minutes ago when I had to face my fear…

So what is CONSTIPATION?consti.jpg

It is the inability to pass stool frequently or straining when passing stool due to hard stool.

When you go more than 3 days straight without emptying your bowel it’s a sign that you are constipated.

Or when you have difficulty in passing stool it’s another sign of constipation.  

Or when you feel like you have not emptied your bowel completely (feeling of incomplete evacuation).

Sometimes it comes with swollen belly or lower abdominal pain.

Either way, it’s not a pleasant feeling and it can be prevented.

Sometimes it’s not a big deal, but another time it could be very dangerous depending on the cause.

Few of the causes (ranging from minor to major) include:

  • Eating disorders( abnormal/disturbed eating habits such as anorexia nervosa)
  • Not being active
  • Eating a lot of dairy products e.g. butter, ice creams, cakes, milk etc .
  • Lack of diet rich in fiber such as oat meal/ wheat (fiber is not a joke if you must have a free flow in the throne-room).
  • Lack or inadequate water or fluid intake.
  • Delay in emptying your bowel when you have the urge to do so.
  • Pregnancy ( in women)
  • Stress
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Parkinson disease
  • Colon cancer.
  • There could be other cause; the above is just few….

If you have found a cause among the above listed causes of CONSTIPATION then you will know what to do in order to prevent it.


  • Drink water regularly ( before you can have over dose of water it would be long)
  • Drink warm water/milk in the morning
  • Make sure you include fruits and vegetables to your diet.
  • Eat roughages and fibers ( e.g. oat meal and wheat)
  • Do regular exercise (remember inactivity can cause constipation)
  • If after doing the afore mentioned preventive measures, you still have constipation, you might need to take mild laxatives/stool softeners or visit the hospital.

Don’t wait till you are constipated to start taking measures, start it now!!!

Good morning and happy new week…

I hope you had a great weekend? in case you missed my last post, you can check here.

For a long time I used to be a negative person, I mean i always think negativity and I don’t miss out of any of my thought( that  is anything I think about always happen to me).

Be positive because positive minds produce positive lives.

If the devil can successfully take over your mind/thought, he has gained authority over your life.

And you know that, according to” proverbs 23:7 For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”

Be careful with your thought, spend time to check your thoughts, when things are not going well, pause to ask yourself; what have I being thinking about?

In case you are wondering, what then should i think about?

The word of God tells us what to think about, ” Philippians4 :8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

If the things you are thinking about doesn’t have the qualities mentioned above, you need to change your thoughts….

Meanwhile, what can probably have all the mentioned qualities?( pure, lovely,true,noble,right,admirable,excellent and praiseworthy) .Nothing but the word of GOD

Fill your mind with the word of God and watch your life undergo a drastic turnaround.

Good success is guaranteed by meditating on the word of God…Joshua 1:8 says so ( Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.)

Hello friends, it has really been a long while, no excuse I have just been very lazy.

I hope you are well?

I know you will be wondering why I am posting this, but I really need to talk about this.

I met a wonderful man who possess all the standard I have set to see in a man I will like to spend the rest of my life with, Godly: right standing! talk of looks: he is handsome! Intelligence: on point! and what a view….

We became friends, I liked him and its mutual…

Meanwhile, all the while I was in doubt of what my genotype  was because as a Child I was told I’m AA but I later checked by myself and they gave me different types of results at every Laboratory.

 Meeting him, we were talking and he mentioned that He has AS genotype… It was disheartening because we both doesn’t want to take the risk of having SS children in later life…


Long story short, I had to let it go but I must confess: it is really hard. The only assuring thing is that God is good and He will give me the best.

My point is this, the moment that guy proposed to be just friend, ask for the genotype  in case you have AS genotype or in case you are in doubt… or better still be sure of your genotype now even if you are not ready for any relationship…

Guy, if you are so sure you are AS please before you ask that babe out be sure of her genotype.

It was a painful decision to let go but it was a wise one… Mine is not the first case but I really wish singles can avoid heart breaks because of Medical issues.

Hey boo, I hope this post meet you well?

I don’t know if there has been situation where you hear about the death of someone ( not necessarily a close relative) and you started asking what killed them??? yes, I have been in this situation severally and I kept o wondering, what killed them? Alas! the silent killer(s).


Silent killers are the diseases that exist but are not obvious until they have done some damages.They are characterized by subtle symptoms that often go undetected or unnoticed. If too much time passes without treating the disease, it may cause serious complications or sometimes death.

Chances are high that people may be living with such dangerous diseases without knowing it.

There is only one cure and that is early detection which is usually through self examination or routine medical check up!

  1. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE-  it is also known as HYPERTENSION , it is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressure. Normal blood pressure for adults is defined as a systolic pressure below 120mmHg and a diastolic pressure below 80mmHg. Abnormal increases in blood pressure are defined as having blood pressures higher than 120/80 mmHg. one out of every 3 adults, have high blood pressure.High blood pressure is usually associated with stress, smoking, high salt intake, anxiety, excessive drinking, and leading a sedentary lifestyle.Other factors that contribute include obesity, genetic factors, use of birth control pills or pain relievers, kidney disease and adrenal disease.Usually, high blood pressure does not present noticeable symptoms. In some cases, it may cause headaches, shortness of breath or nosebleeds, but these symptoms occur when the blood pressure reading is extremely high.

    If ignored, high blood pressure may lead to heart disease or even strokes. The only way to identify it is to regularly measure your blood pressure, either on your own at home or by an health practitioner. If you find the numbers are too high, consult your health care provider.

  2. DIABETES-a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood. the cause o diabetes has not been identified. However, factors like  genetics, obesity, a poor diet and lack of exercise appear to play important roles in developing this disease

According to the International Diabetes Federation, an estimated 387 million people             worldwide have diabetes and 1 in 2 people do not even know that they have it.

Some common symptoms include excessive thirst, hunger, sudden weight loss,                 frequent urination, tiredness, slow-healing sores or cuts, and blurry vision. An                  uncontrolled diabetes may result in serious complications such as  heart disease,                     kidney disease, limb amputation, strokes, and vision loss.  If you have any of the                      symptoms mentioned earlier, please get your blood sugar level checked.

3. HEPATITIS-It  refers to an inflammatory condition of the liver and is a viral infection that affects thousands of people globally. Different hepatotropic viruses cause different types of this disease, including hepatitis A, B, C, D and E.

Hepatitis A and E are caused by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. Hepatitis B, C and D are contracted through transfusions of contaminated blood, sexual contact and during childbirth. Hepatitis can also be caused by excessive alcohol consumption and autoimmune diseases.

The virus may be present in the body for several years without causing any symptoms. However, it may cause symptoms like fatigue, muscle aches, jaundice, pale stools, low-grade fever, vomiting and diarrhea. If you have any of these symptoms, consult your doctor for a simple blood test or liver biopsy to check for hepatitis. If you are at a high risk of hepatitis, ask your doctor about getting a hepatitis vaccination.

4. CORONARY ARTERY  DISEASE (CAD)-It is a common heart disease caused by plaque(fats) buildup in the walls of your arteries. Too much plaque buildup narrows the arteries over time, which could partially or totally block the blood flow throughout your body. Over a period of time, CAD can also weaken your heart muscle, leading to heart failure.

Major risk factors for CAD include obesity or being overweight, a family history of heart disease, a poor diet, smoking and lack of physical activity.

As CAD does not cause any immediate signs and symptoms, it can go unnoticed until you have a heart attack. Opt for regular health checkups for timely diagnosis.

Eat a diet low in sodium and fat, avoid smoking, exercise regularly and take medications after consulting your doctor to reduce your risk of CAD or other heart conditions.

5.FATTY LIVER DISEASE- It is a condition in which the liver has difficulty breaking down fats, which causes a buildup in the liver tissue. There are two types of fatty liver disease– alcoholic liver disease and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Alcoholic liver disease is caused by excessive alcohol consumption. The exact cause of nonalcoholic disease, is not known yet.

It usually runs in families. Fatty liver is described as when more than 10 percent of the liver is fat and the impaired liver functioning has occurred in someone who drinks little or no alcohol.

During the initial stage, fatty liver disease usually does not cause any noticeable symptoms, rather the disease is harmless at this stage.

Overtime, the fat that accumulates in the liver causes inflammation. This leads to a more serious form of the disease.

You may experience dull or aching pain in the top right of your abdomen as well as fatigue, loss of appetite and a general feeling of being unwell if you have a fatty liver.

Risk factors include high cholesterol, obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome, sleep apnea, Type 2 diabetes, underactive thyroid and underactive pituitary gland.

If you suspect you have a problem in your liver, consult your doctor. A simple blood test or ultrasound can help diagnose this problem at an early stage.

6. OSTEOPOROSIS- It is a disease that leads to bone deterioration, making them thin, hard and liable to break easily. It is also a “silent disease” that often has no symptoms in the early stages.Thus, the early stages of osteoporosis are difficult to detect and diagnose. On top of that, this disease can strike at any age.Often, the first sign is a painful bone fracture. A few signs of osteoporosis are loss of height over time, back pain, a stooped posture and bone fractures that occur even due to a minor fall.

Risk factors include being female, post-menopausal, other risk factors include family history, poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking, certain medications, and a small-boned frame.

If you are at risk for osteoporosis, consult your doctor . To prevent osteoporosis, you should do regular exercise, eat healthy foods (especially calcium and vitamin D-rich foods), limit alcohol consumption and avoid smoking.

7.COLON CANCER- It is also a common silent killer. It is the third most common cancer in the U.S., with thousands of people diagnosed each year.

A tumor in the rectum or colon rarely develops overnight. It often starts as a small growth known as a polyp. Most of these polyps are noncancerous, but when ignored or left untreated, some of them can turn cancerous after a few years.

Early detection and removal of cancerous cells in the colon can cure the cancer in 90 percent of cases. But the key is to have colorectal screenings done at regular intervals to detect polyps and get them removed.

Although colon cancer won’t give you early warning signs, if you notice more constipation, diarrhea, blood in your stool, unusual gas or abdominal pain, low blood count, unexplained weight loss, vomiting and fatigue, get a simple checkup done to address the cause of the problem and potentially save your life.

8. NONMELANOMA SKIN CANCER– It  develops slowly in the upper layers of your skin due to over exposure to ultraviolet  rays or over exposure to sun or sources of indoor tanning, such as tanning beds and sunlamps. A family history of this cancer, pale skin that burns easily, and a large number of moles or freckles may increase your risk. Men and people over 40 years of age are at even higher risk.

Usually a red lump or scaly patch on your skin that doesn’t heal even after a few weeks is the first sign of nonmelanoma skin cancer.Consult your doctor if you see any skin abnormality that hasn’t healed after four weeks. The specialist may perform a biopsy to confirm whether it’s cancerous.

You should avoid overexposure to UV light, sunlamps and tanning beds, use a sunscreen, limit going out in sun during peak hours, and get regular checkups of your skin to reduce your risk of nonmelanoma skin cancer.

9. CHAGAS DISEASE –  also known as American trypanosomiasis, is a parasitic disease affecting 10 million people worldwide. It is caused when bitten by a bug known as the ‘kissing’ bug that carries the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi.

In the initial stage of this disease, there are usually no symptoms even though a high number of parasites are circulating in your blood.

In less than 50 percent of the people, the first visible signs are a sore (where the parasite has entered the body), eyelid swelling (if the parasite has entered through the eye), fever, fatigue, body aches, headaches, swollen glands, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.When the disease becomes chronic, it causes severe cardiovascular and gastrointestinal problems that can even lead to death.

If you have symptoms of Chagas disease, consult your doctor. A simple blood test can confirm the presence of the deadly bugs and timely treatment can save your life.

10. CERVICAL CANCER-According to the World Health Organization, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer and cause of cancer mortality in women, especially in developing countries.

This cancer occurs in the cells of the cervix( part of the female reproductive organ), and usually causes no symptoms during its early stages. If not diagnosed on time, the cancer soon spreads to the bladder, liver, intestines or lungs. At later stages, one may experience pelvic pain or vaginal bleeding.

Cervical cancer is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), which spreads through sexual contact. In most cases, a women’s natural immune system is able to fight this infection. But certain types of HPV may lead to cervical cancer.

Women who smoke, have multiple sex partners, have many children, are overweight, use birth control pills for a long period or are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are at more prone to developing cervical cancer.

Usually normal cells in the cervix take several years to turn into cancer cells. So, if you experience even mild symptoms, consult your doctor about getting a Pap smear test. It is very effective in screening for cervical cancer.


Little things count, don’t ignore that mild pain, that sudden swelling, dizziness, headaches, discoloration or bleeding , see your health care provider without delay…

Hi there, by now you all know I love FRIDAYS 🙈 so thank God it’s Friyayyy 💃💃💃

I really hope you had a great week, I did because the week went so fine and fast!

OK! Majority of us set some goals to be achieved by the end of 2017 but one way or the other (probably because it was really out of your control or you were limited by external factors) some/few of us could not meet the set goal(s).

But in my search, I discovered that one of the reasons people don’t get to meet their set goals/target is INDECISION 😱

Yes, indecision is a distraction and could be a hinderance to meeting target(s)

We all know what indecision is the state of being unable to make a choice over a very long period of time.

Some didn’t accomplish set goal( for example, someone who planned to get married latest by December 2017, but still has difficulty making up his/her mind to chose one out of all the available suitors/babes) , in this case, he/she obviously wont be able to chose right or achieve this goal by now.

We all could be confused at a point but it is not meant to be for a long time.

Indecision is an illusion, mental illness at that.

People who have difficulty making choices or decide are probably manifesting a symptom of a mental disorder that is being called dependent personality disorder

According to , and the only recommended treatment for such is a psychotherapy which involves through counseling by experts .

This is few days to 2018, if you do not want to have the same regret(s) this time next year, do the needful. If you need help, seek it! 

It is not enough to set goals, what steps are you taking towards achieving it ? 

We all have the potentials to meet our set targets but we would only be able to perform if we know and tackle our limitations .

Do not allow this weekend pass you by, if you need to let go of some relationships, people, behaviors, attitude etc. Let it go , it is going to be a new chapter/phase/dawn.

Hey peeps, thank God its Friday💃💃💃

I really hope you had a great week? For some of us the week was way too stressful , while some of us had a really calm week.

Either ways, we all should know that as much as we need to hustle/work, there is need for us to take care of ourselves💯

Human resource is the greatest resource any organization could ever need.

Just like engines, if we don’t service our bodies there is probability that we would break down just like an unserviced machined👌

If you and I will function effectively, we must devote the time to renew ourselves physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and socially.

According to Stephen Covey in his book (7 habit of highly effective people); sharpen the saw!!!

You are the greatest asset, preserve yourself👌

Even God rested after the creation(Genesis2:3).

This weekend, try as much as possible to renew your strength💪💪

Know that only God can give us the true rest we desire (according to Psalm23:2-3 ” He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake” and Psalm 62:1-2 “my soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him”)

No matter what, only God crowns our hustle..Psalm127:1-2

may our labors not be in vain in Jesus name.

Why should you read my blog???

Hi, my name is Adenike Oladimeji I am in my twenties, I am a registered christian Nurse!!!

Why should you read my blog really???

1. Because I have been a patient and I know what it means to have illnesses/disease going in and out of hospitals or wishing/praying for a miracle!!!

When I was much younger and up till when I graduated as a Registered nurse, I was always having a terrible migraine headaches, chronic ulcer pain , boils all over my body and bad eye sight at every little stress or pressure !!!

I have dealt with a whole lot of things you don’t want to imagine even as a nurse, so when I am writing I am not just writing the theories I was taught but the things I have dealt with and how I dealt with them…
2. Because I am annointed and appointed to nurse! To me, nursing is more of a calling than a profession… Beyond the ethics, beyond the foundation and fundamentals of nursing, beyond anatomy and pharmacology, God has blessed me with the most powerful tools for healing!!!

Saving lives ( spirit, soul and body) is more for me is beyond the pills…

Follow me, let me show you how the great physician has healed me and is still going to heal me 😁🙌.
